How to order
what size space do you need?
If in doubt, make a circle on the ground of 18' or what ever size of Tipi
or Yurt you are considering. Realize that the Tipi walls go in, the Yurt walls
go straight up. This means you can use the full 18' circle in a Yurt, the usable
space in a Tipi the same size is smaller. I could possibly assist you on in your
decision making, if you let me know what you are using it for.
do you want windows?
For the Yurt you want to decide whether you want them with mosquito netting and be able to
close them with the velcro-pull-away viewflex, or do you want to have them closed with only
the viewflex sewn in. Tipi windows do not open. Decide where you want the windows
(and stove for yurt)
What fabric is ideal for your climate? Inquire and I can assist you with that decision.
can you pick up your order?
I live in Nelson, BC. Nine hour drive east of Vancouver, nine hour drive west of Calgary,
three hours north of Spokane, Wa.
need it shipped?
Let me know where you live and I will figure out the least costly way to
ship it to you. I usually use FedEx.
how long does it take from ordering to delivery?
It depends how many orders are ahead of you. Spring tends to be the busiest. If you want your
structure in spring, best time to order is fall or winter. Then you are sure to have it for the
whole season. For your custom Yurt is at least 6-8 weeks (depending on work load).Tipi is about
3 weeks. Best is to inquire about my present work load, to get a better idea. Same is with the
canopies and tents. You get in line with the deposit (which is anywhere from 50 to 70% of the total).
The remainder is to be paid on delivery.
my references and background?
I have been building TIPIS since 1989 and YURTS since 1995 and have steadily improved designs and broadened
my spectrum of quality out-door wilderness type of structures. Structures for the modern nomad
who wants to experience and live close to the Earth at least part of the year, in a comfortable
and exquisite manner. I use a variety of fabrics (no vinyl, other than for windows) and take
the toxicity into consideration that many people are allergic to. I make my structures as low
cost as possible (using the best canvas on the market, I want them to last for you!), because
I believe in Sustainable Community and the accessibility of my products.
I love designing new (old) shelters. Right now am exploring Arabian tents.
If you have an inspiration or idea, ask...I just may be able to work it out for you!
